Oak

Oak

When I look at an oak tree, I see strength, capacity, and an ability to sustain a great deal. The oak tree’s innate, non-mental intelligence means that it doesn’t have to choose to replenish itself, it simply IS replenished by its connection to Mother Earth. The vibrational medicine of Oak is for times when we try to be as strong and capable as an oak tree, sustaining far more than is natural for us. We do not have all the outstretched branches of the oak: we have but 2 arms, 2 hands. What’s more, our mammalian nature means that we have to choose and create balance. We ought not expect ourselves to be like the oak. Oak spirit medicine gently reminds us what the boundaries of our capacity are, allowing us to replenish in many ways, including by admitting our limitations, relinquishing some of what we’re sustaining, and engaging help as necessary.
